ABOUT "GALAXY EXPLORER -- da EVOLUTION", CONTEST: Deadline 10th June 2006

CGIndia is proud to announce the commencement of its first online CG-Contest, "Galaxy Explorer-- da Evolution"!! We invite CG-Artists from every corner of this planet to participate in the contest and show their skills. The Contest will act as a proving ground for CG-artist to show their talent.

Galaxy Explorer -- da Evolution, contest is all about evolution, not of the humans - but "the Spaceship". From the very beginning, All of us (CG-artist), are watching various forms of spaceship in CG-world, how they grow complex and become more n more visually appealing as the software technology improves with time. But they are nothing but the brain Childs of the artists who built them. Now, we are asking all the participants , not too build their spaceship (Galaxy Explorer) from scratch or In other words, Do not begin from the conceptual stage, but use the basis 3d model provided by us and evolve-it, in a best possible way - by using past observations, experience and creative imagination. Artist may modify the 3d model in any ways, but the final output will look at least the derivative of the basis shape of the given 3d model. The contest will give artists ample amount of freedom to explore their creativity as well restrict them at same time on going overboard, and focus on the main subject. Feel free to do experiments with texturing to make the final rendering visually appealing and distinctive. Artist are free to render the final output image in any style {Example-may use cartoon shaders,or make the rendering hyper-realistic using highend plugins like vray/mental ray, or you may use Photoshop or any paint software for 2d’ish looks ....etc).
